Fundació del Teatre Principal de Maó

As shown by the statutes , the Foundation was created to promote the private and public participation in the general interest of culture, and in a special way, of those related to the Arts.

The Foundation abides by the approved statutes and by the laws which correspond to Foundations and the private and public participation of general interests. The territorial area of the Foundation corresponds to the city of Maó, for the organization and final results, eventhough, its juridical terms are legally accepted Nationwide and abroad, where the foundation can carry out other interventions.

The Foundation of the Principal Theatre carries out these main purposes:

a) management of the Principal Theatre, and any of the cultural activities which take place;
b)optimize the costs and efficiency of the programmed activities;
c) Help to attract the highest number of members of the public attending the programmed events;
d) promote the creativity, the quality, and the capacity of renovation of local groups and artists, as well as professional groups who take part in the production and representation of the Arts;
e) promote the technical knowledge and as well as other types related to the Arts;
f) develop all the activities which are necessary in order to obtain optimistic results;
g) Management of other assests and Rights that the Foundation obtains through cessions, donations, parchases, etc;

The Foundation possesses the following economic resources: 

a) an annual contribution from the Mahon Town Hall, included in its Budget;
b) grants and economic aids received from official or private entities, as well as credits received by the Foundation;
c) revenues proceeding from artistic activities, sales of products or from any of the services the theatre may offer;
d) contributions received from companies or from other foundations;

MEMBERS OF THE FOUNDATION

Members of the Foundation are the following:

· The Trustees
· The President of the Trustees
· The Vice President of the Trustees
· Executive Committee 
· The Director
· Advisory Board

The Town Hall of Mahon, holds the post of the principal founder , due to the fact that it was the founder institution of the Foundation of the Principal of Maó, the Mayor of the City holds the post of President of the Foundation. Nevertheless, and abiding by the decision of the principal founder, in agreement with the Executive Committee, other institutions, public entities and other parties may be included. The Consell Insular de Menorca (Local Government) is also an added party to the Foundation.
